World Problems

The IPCC (The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change) released its sixth report in 2022. In its summary for policy-makers, the report’s authors outlined a series of near-term, mid-term, and long-term risks. If global warming reaches 1.5°C in the near term (2021-2040), it would cause “unavoidable increases in multiple climate hazards,” as well as “multiple risks to ecosystems and humans.”

In fall 2022, the World Bank will update the International Poverty Line from $1.90 to $2.15. 62% of the world population lives on less than $10/day. World poverty problem is not just an ethical issue. It will affect the world in many different ways, such as violence, war, epidemic disease, etc.

We have lots of problems in the world. It does affect all human beings in the world, weather you are wealthy or not, weather you are developed countries or developing countries. There are two approaches to deal with those problems: the top down method and the bottom up method. In this forum, I think we are primarily using a bottom up method. We are trying to find out some solutions that everyone can contribute something, little by little. When more people are aware and understand how they can really change the world by working together, we may finally resolve those problems.
